Microsoft Surface

Our friends at Microsoft have finally come out with their own series of tablets known as Microsoft surface. The surface comes in two kinds – Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro.

Recently the company has created a new Surface RT and Surface Pro which has recently been made available for purchase. These two tablets look pretty similar and this can make customers have a hard time to make a choice between the two. What makes the two to look quite similar is the fact that they both have the metro screen and a very slight difference in thickness, approx 4.22mm, which is not a lot when you think about it.

Despite their similarity they are quite different .Here are some of the comparisons:

We find that the price gap between the two is very high; in that the RT model with Microsoft office has a starting price of $499 while the pro without the Microsoft office is $899.
The compatibility of Pro model with older windows is high compared to the RT model.
The thickness and weight still differs even if it is quite slight, the Pro model has a thickness of 0.5 inches while its weight is 2 pounds in contrast to the RT model which has 0.35 thickness and 1.5 pounds in weight.
The disk space and storage tech is also different the Pro has 64GB and 128GB versions while RT has 32GB and 64GB versions.
The surface Pro drive has similar speed with SSDs that are found in mainstream laptops compared to RT.
The battery life of the two also shows a clear distinction in that the Pro has a storage of 4 to 5hrs while the RT gets about twice that that is 8 to 10 hours.
Another feature that differentiates this two tablets is the processor where we have the Pro packs a powerful Intel Ivy Bridge chip while the RT has a considerably slower NVidia Tegra 3.
The two have a different resolution where we have the Pro having a killer display of 1920 by 1080 while the RT has a resolution of 1366 by 768. But still both are 10.6 inches,
The RT is more of a tablet while the Pro is more of an ultra-book squeezed into a tablet.

In my opinion it will be a good idea for the customers to take a look at both and choose the one based on what they are going to do with the device. My preference has always been the higher priced Surface Pro, you simply can do a lot more with this tablet. Microsoft being able to sell away it’s stock of Surface Pro in no time confirms this. Microsoft still has a long way to go in perfecting it’s tablets, and Pro is a good start.

The latest Apple iPad is the 4th generation. It’s basically has the same features with the earlier versions the only difference is that it is newly upgraded.

The Apple iPad 4th Generation tablet has the following features;

It has an A6X processor with a dual core ARM based processor with quad-core graphics.
Has a built-in rechargeable Li-Po battery 11560 mAh
Its central processing unit has a 1.4GHZ dual core Apple swift
Its dimensions are 9.5 inches in height by 7.31 inches in width and 0.37 inches in depth.
Its front camera is a 1.2MP, 720p HD
It has inbuilt Wi-Fi antennas that are dual-band that is 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
Its storage capacity ranges from 16, 32, and 64 to 128 GB
Has a lighter connector that replaces the old 30-pin from the older versions.
The iPad comes in white as usual but has a differently colored front glass and the same aluminum backs.

Advantages

Has a smart cover that protects the screen, the cover is usually magnetically covered to the iPad.
The A6X processor has increased speed and handles the retina display graphics quite well.
The iPad has a weight of 1.4 pound body; this is not light but provide comfort- ability when held.
It has a thicker bezel that is appropriate for its size and weight that aids in keeping a grip on the ultra-sleek body.
It has a color accuracy that is amazing that makes photos, movies and test look crystal clear.
The inbuilt Wi-Fi antennae offer better connections and speeds that are over average home networks.
Its lightning connector that is used for both a charging and connection port.
The fourth generation iPad has a long lasting battery that takes at least 14 hours.
Its iOS application store remains the best in class.
The LTE has a more appealing proposition hence an improved worldwide cellular compatibility.
Also the LTE can also work with a wider range of international carriers.
It can also act as a hotspot with some carriers sharing internet connection over Wi-Fi Bluetooth or USB.
It can sync data and other content with a mac or PC using iTunes

Disadvantages

It’s identical to its recent predecessor in terms of size, weight and retina screen
It’s heavy to hold in one hand.

In conclusion this 4th generation iPad from Apple is awesomely cool despite it’s big screen. It is incredibly fast, portable and has an impressive performance. For folks who are indecisive about tablets…check this out!!!

The Google Nexus 7 is the latest 4.2 Android operating system. It has 3 different version that are mainly differentiated by the memory space. They include:

8GB version which goes for $199

16GB version which goes for$249

32GB version with HSPA+ goes for $299

When the Google Nexus 7 was launched three other major tablets were released they include; Kindle Fire HD, iPad Mini and Nook HD .Here are some of the comparisons of the four tablets

The Nexus7 weighs 0.76 pounds while the Kindle Fire HD, iPad Mini and Nook HD weigh 0.86, 0.68 and 0.68 respectively, this shows that the nexus is lighter than the Kindle but not as weak as the i Pad mini and Nook.

The Nexus7 has the following features:

A sharp screen
A comfortable design
Great battery life that can go for about 10hrs
Has a 1.2 megapixel front camera this is the most distinguishable feature
It has a headphone jack
The HSPA+ version houses a SIM card slot in the middle of the left edge.

Advantages

It comes at an affordable rate.

Its portrait is made of bezels which are useful for placement of thumbs when holding.

Has an improved keyboard with gesture typing because it can apparently predict the next word
It has a long lasting battery that allows you to do more.
It also a variety of choice by having over 700,000 apps and games.

Disadvantages

It lacks tablet optimized applications
Its new games have frame rate issues
Its HSPA+ speed is limited by being location dependent.

This is an Atom-based hybrid that has a detachable screen that formulates a tablet. Compared to other hybrids it’s cheaper.

The Acer Iconia W510 consist of the following features:

A 64GB SSD hard drive with about half that space free after the operating system and software have been installed.
The tablet half has connections which include the Micro-HDMI, micro SD, and Micro-USB that work using pocketful adapters.
It has an internal memory of 2GB, 1,066MHz DDR2
Has Intel GMA graphics
Has a processor that is 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760.
It has Windows 8 as its operating system
Its width dimensions measure 10.2 by 7.3 inches while its height is 0.4 inches.
Its diagonal screen size is approximately 10.1 inches.
The weight of the system that’s screen and keyboard with the AC adapter ranges from 2.8 pounds to 3 pounds.
It is categorized under the ultraportable hybrid group.
It networks through 802.11n Wi-Fi and also has Bluetooth
This W510 has 1 USB 2.0 one on the tablet and the other on its base; also has a Micro-SD card Reader that are all used in data transfer.
For audio purposes it has Stereo speakers and a combo headphone or mic jack.
Has a Micro-HDMI port that enables one to connect the Acer Iconia W510 to a television set hence making it possible for one to view what is stored in the hard disk .e.g. Movies or Music videos.

Its advantages include:

A good long life battery
It’s light and portable
Can be detached easily hence can be changed from a laptop to a tablet.
The hinge that connects the two halves that is the screen and the keyboard is secure and easily used.
The W510 slate part has been designed properly hence responsive.

Its Disadvantages include:

Its top is entirely heavy and is prone to tipping over because the keyboard half contains an additional battery that is too light.
Its keyboard and touch pad have not been properly made.
It has too many micro-style ports.
It’s expensive.

In conclusion the Acer Iconia W510 is a unique hybrid that can work either as a laptop or a tablet. It’s suitable for business travel or work due to its long battery life. That is the tablet alone can ran for 10hours and 10 minutes, but when the keyboard is included it ran’s up to 13hours and 14minutes.This device is truly efficient when it comes to power!

Most web sites are hosted on Shared Servers, the server has many websites on it, and shares the server’s management purposes along with common security certificate for E-Commerce sites. Though ordinary for the majority of sites, for some type of sites (specific E-Commerce or sites requiring increased security) a Dedicated Server is an excellent option.

Dedicated Servers are the ones in which the domain/site owner has specialised access and use of the server in question – there are certainly no other sites on the server. This is preferable when the site in question requires certain elements, such as a Security Certificate or compliance with certain specifications (such as the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Standard) and needs dedicated access and control of the server.
